CSS is getting too good (and some quick hit updates)

Hello Reader,

Trying something a little different this week with some quick hits before we dive into the main content.

The 2026 edition of the State of Dev’s survey is now open. As with all of the State of surveys (or well, any survery for that matter), the more people who take it, the more representative it is.
As I let you know earlier this week, I’ll be speaking at ZurichJS in September. If you are in the area and can’t make it, they also have a free pre-conf meetup that I’ll probably be at.
I’ve teamed up with Michael Warren to create a course called Thoughtful Design Systems, and I put out a couple of snippets of the conversations we’re having as part of the early planning stage modules of the course. 🙋‍♂️ What I’ve been up to this week

Still the summer holidays here, and between some family vacationing, ferrying kids to camp, and other things, I’m still very much in reduced workload mode, but as I said above, I’ve been recording the course with Michael, as well as working on some updates to CSS Demystified, with a new module rolling around soon-ish, and putting some work into another project as well.

Still have a lot going on, with the kids having another full month off, but my plan for next week is to start ramping up things once again, so the second channel, links to other resources, and quizzes should be making a comeback either next week or the following one.

But until then, we still have some CSS goodness on the main channel 🙂.
