Hello Reader,

A bit of a different email this Sunday, as I don't have any new content to share (which is the first time I haven't had anything in a long time).

Instead, I'm writing to let you know on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, I’m giving a workshop with Frontend Masters called Modern CSS Fundamentals.

The workshop is for anyone ready to move from doing their best to getting CSS to work to truly understanding it.

Whether you’ve only touched on CSS and are still in the trial-and-error phase, or you’ve been using it for a while now and the inconsistencies drive you crazy, then this workshop is for you.

It’s a live workshop, so if you attend, you can ask questions in the chat during the workshop. Once they’ve had time to edit it, it’ll also become a full course on their platform, so you can revisit lessons and take parts of it at your own pace as well.

Frontend Masters does require a membership, but if you’d like, you can sign up for just one month to attend the workshop and take advantage of some of their other material during that time. One month costs less than $30 USD if you use the coupon code POWELL at checkout.

I hate being a salesperson, but that’s an incredible deal 😅.

The links above are affiliate links so if you sign up having click through those, it also helps support everything I do.

I haven’t created something this comprehensive covering all the fundamentals of CSS like this before, and I’m super happy and proud of how it’s come together.

I really hope to see you there!
Kevin

P.S. Again, you can use the coupon code POWELL to sign up for 25% off. It should be applied automatically with this link.

View this email in your browser (or share it with a friend!) Hello Reader, I’ve started collecting answers for a Family Feud style game called Asked 100 Devs (more on this at the very end of the email), and one of the questions I asked was “What is your favorite color format in CSS?” I don’t want to spoil the results yet (I’ll be having some contestants on soon to try and guess the top answers to the questions), but something that caught me by surprise was that, of the answers for rgb, 80% of...

View this email in your browser (or share it with a friend!) Hello Reader, Trying something a little different this week with some quick hits before we dive into the main content. The 2026 edition of the State of Dev’s survey is now open. As with all of the State of surveys (or well, any survery for that matter), the more people who take it, the more representative it is. As I let you know earlier this week, I’ll be speaking at ZurichJS in September. If you are in the area and can’t make it,...

Hello Reader, An off-schedule email this week, as I completely forgot to send my regular newsletter on Sunday, and I had wanted to share something that's time-sensitive. I've mentioned this a few times now, but I'll be speaking at Zurich JS Conf on September 11th (along with others like Scott Tolinski, Daniel Roe, Tajas Kumar, and many others), and the ticket price is going up in 3 days. I'll be having some fun talking about how we can now use CSS for a lot of things we'd traditionally used...
